STORYBOARDS

I'm often asked, "what are storyboards?".  My most common response is that it's like a graphic novel of the film's script.  The main reason to do storyboards is to convey the director's vision to the rest of the crew.  My favorite projects are when a director trusts me enough to design the sequence from top to bottom.  It's extremely rewarding to see people respond in the theater the way you wanted them to.

ANIMATICS

It's often cost-prohibitive to go through the pain of making animatics but there is nothing more expedient than this process to find out if a sequence is really going to work the way you want it to.  Here we bring sound effects, animation, music, and actors together to perform the scene so everyone can see if it's working on the screen.

ILLUSTRATION

Often referred to as Key Frames or Key Art, illustrations provide a glimpse of what the finished frame and tone will be in the finished film.  They feature particular moments in a film and are often used to help sell a project to potential investors.

COMIC BOOK

The Miraculously Astounding Barnstorm Billy

I've never made a comic book before but I decided I would give it a go, just for fun.  I've been a professional filmmaker and storyteller for over 30 years and perhaps it's time to try telling a story through a different medium.  Here's my Facebook group to track the progress of its creation.
